Information regarding Covid-19

Samhällsvetarkåren (The Social Science Student Union) is dedicated to doing what is best for our students, and that includes helping you stay safe and informed about the current public health situation. The fulltimers and board of the union is closely monitoring the developments and constantly tries to find solutions to the challenges that comes with the spread of Covid-19. We’re also working continuously with the faculty and the university to ensure our students education and wellbeing.

All activities and events that we arrange will have a clear limit of maximum 50 participants in line with the regulations set by the Swedish government. We also want to be very clear that we expect people to follow Folkhälsomyndighetens (The Public Health Agency) recommendations.

This includes:

  • Social distancing of at least 1 meter

  • Staying at home if you feel ill, or have symptoms of Covid-19

  • Wash and/or sanitise your hands often

  • Avoid touching your face

  • Cough and sneeze in your elbow

Everyone has an individual responsibility to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and we trust that you will follow the rules and recommendations set in place for everyone’s safety. The Union provides hand sanitiser upon entry and the possibility of washing your hands in our downstairs bathroom. We don’t shake hands or hug, but say hello in a Covid-19 manner by bouncing elbows or waving. Our activities will be held outside in the extent possible with regards to the weather. A limit of 25 people is set as a maximum amount of people allowed at one time inside our Union house Samvetet. We also clean surfaces regularly.

Samhällsvetarkåren believes that the social context that the union provides will be even more important this year since our students won’t get the same opportunities to meet and bond during lectures or seminars as normally. The union is a place for a social context and we believe it should be open for our members in the extent possible. We’d therefore like to provide a place where it’s safe to be and where you can get help with any questions or concerns you might have regarding your education or personal wellbeing.

We are always here for you to voice any concerns and we will always represent our students to the best of our ability. Students can contact us with questions or concerns at info@samvetet.lu.se.

We encourage all students to stay up to date with the recommendations and rules set by the public health agency (Folkhälsomyndigheten) and Lund University.
