Hey! My name is Anton Silverbern and I am currently a studying a master i Welfare Policies and management! I have been active in Samhällsvetarkåren for several years, I was the president during the operational year 2022/2023 and currently I am the chairperson of the education committee, vice chairperson for the nominating council and a delegate to the Representative Assembly. I have also been vice president of Lund university student union association (LUS) and worked full-time to present all students at LU.
Next year is the last year of my studies and I would like to contribute by being a representative in the Assembly! Thanks for considering me!
Jan Cygan Department of Human Geography
Hi all! My name is Janek and I am currently a Board Member at the Social Sciences Student Union! I also study freestanding courses in human geography and next semester I will begin my Master's in Social Scientific Data Analysis. Given my position at the Board I have a deep understanding of the Union's operations, which I believe will come in very helpful during the discussions at the Assembly. Throughout this academic year I have recognised many issues and challenges that the Union faces, and I would love to continue to contribute to improving its situation once my mandate as Board Member ends. I believe the new Assembly structure will allow us to have a steadier impact on the Union's operations and influence all its sections and the Faculty's bodies in a more equal way. I am excited to making the Union better, and I hope to see some of you at the Assembly! Have a great day:)
Toufan Farahani International Office (GS; BIDS) Hi! I'm Toufan, a 3rd-year BIDS student who's gonna be going into my master's in Welfare Policies and Management after the summer. I've been involved in the Student Union in some capacity for the past two years and have been part of the prior two Representative Assemblies. I think the Student Union does important work for students and needs engaged, active members to fight for students' rights. My experience with the Assembly means that I will not be as bogged down with learning rules and regulations, and can focus on the most important areas: making sure that the student union works for its students' interest and continues to prosper.
Mathilda Nyberg Pronk Department of Social Work
Hi! My name is Mathilda and I study at the School of Social work. I have experience of working within a student union since I’ve been a board member at Socionomsektionen for one year. This semester I’ve been in charge of our novice period which included planning 7 weeks of activities and leading a team of 28 mentors.
Being part of a student union is very important to me and I think being a member of the assembly is a natural next step to contribute and gain more experience. With me as a member of the Assembly you will get a person with experience in organising events within a student union who is motivated and knowledgeable about board work.
VeronikaKletečková Department of Human Geography Hej hej hallå! My name is Vero and I would love to be a delegate to the Assembly 2025/2026. I have started my studies in Lund back in 2020, and have been active in the union for the past 3 years as a Representative Assembly delegate, Nominating council chairperson, Board member and even as the Vice-president responsible for general faculty matters (pres.fak). I would like to keep helping the union grow in a sustainable manner, so that it can be the best version of itself for all social scientists from Malmö all the way to Helsingborg. If you want to keep talking about study spaces around the faculty, hit me up!
Maria-Luisa Shadrin Department of Sociology
Hey! My name is Maria-Luisa, I’m 22 years old and originally from Germany. I’m currently pursuing a master’s in sociology. I would love to be part of the Assembly because I believe that, as social science students, we have a responsibility to actively shape the institution that plays such a central role in our lives: education. If elected, I will do my best to represent the voices of my fellow students and approach every decision with empathy and reason.
Alma Malmberg International Office (GS; BIDS)
My name is Alma Malmberg and I am proud to have been nominated for the Assembly in the school year 2025-2026. I have an understanding of the Assembly’s work through having been a part of the RA in the Spring 2025. Having been present for the last Assembly means I know what motions we have passed and am set on making sure we, as a student union, keep up with our goals. I am a proud member of the Social Sciences Union and am motivated to keep its influence on student life clear and drama free. Knowing many active members I know that the Social Sciences union is often the go-to place for socialising with others who share the same interests and a lot of the planning that makes sure this continues is often disregarded. I would like to join the Assembly to be a vote for the Social Sciences Union to thrive. As a plus, I am technically an international student so meet a lot of those usually considered outsiders in that regard so can relay those opinions if necessary. Also being French makes me extra judgy, in both a good and a bad way so if something is brought up that doesn't sit right with me I'll make sure to bring it up to them.
Carl Knarrström Department of Psychology
I wish to candidate for the assembly because I'm honest, don't take crap from others and want to give back to the students at Lunds University.
Bianca Mihai International Office (GS; BIDS)
Hi everyone! I'm Bianca, and I've been a previous member of the RA, back when The Assembly had another structure. I have since then become better at the required skills for taking action; I've practiced writing motions and interpellations, as well as (formal) communication skills during the discussions held during meetings. As an SFS delegate, I have also become better at compromising and bringing forth solutions, considering other perspectives and opinions. Coming from a working class, immigrant background in Malmö and navigating the academic landscape of Lund has not been easy, but I still have the goal of representing students of various backgrounds in the Assembly. That's why I'm applying to represent Graduate School, and not the Department of Sociology, as I'll begin my MSc in Global Studies this fall. I hope to be able to represent you soon!
MariaFilończyk International office (GS; BIDS)
Hi, I'm Maria, a Master's student of Social Scientific Data Analysis and I'd like to join the Samvetet Assembly for the academic year 2025/26. I've been an active member of the Union for the past year, as a result of which I became acquaited with the ins and outs of the institution. I'd be honoured to be able to represent Lund University students in an official capacity.
Sam Löfström Department of Political Science
I'm Sam. Being called the same as the union, I have a right to this position. But jokes aside I've already been student rep. for the union, as well as an active UPF and Lupef member, and as I have a strong interest in student politics, this feels like a great forum to express my interests in bringing about constructive change.
Timea Bács International Office (GS; BIDS) My name is Timea, and I have been part of the Union in different roles since 2023. I have occupied positions as class representative, student representative, and Chair of Education in PLUTO. I have also participated in two RAs, and find it very important to represent students and make sure that their voices are heard within the university system. My previous experience has offered me opportunity to learn about the union's activity, familiarize myself with the bureaucratic elements of the faculty, and set goals for what the upcoming assemblies should achieve. Starting my master in autumn, I would love to stay active in the union, and I believe becoming a member of the assembly is a great way to do this.
Hanna Femle International Office (GS; BIDS)
Hi! My name is Hanna Fremle, and I'm candidating to the Assembly because I care about ensuring students' access to a good education and the work necessary to enable it! I have been active in the Union for three years and I'm currently a board member <3
Viktor Sundt Department of Political Science
I am running for the Assembly of the Social Sciences Student Union, motivated by a belief in the importance of student representation for improving the quality of our education and by a belief in the power of organized students in affecting the important ongoing debates regarding higher education in Sweden: funding crises, academic freedom, and the challenges of generative AI, to name a few.
I have particular interest in campus development, resource management at the university, and course evaluations, for example, and in contributing to the student union becoming an efficient and effective organisation, financially and organisationally. I have previously held positions as student representative, Vice President of the student union, and chairperson of the Education Committee, and am currently a student representative in the University Board through LUS – Lund University Student Union Association. I have also previously served as a member of the student union's Representative Assembly.
It would be a great honour to serve as an Assembly member in the new structure, to help it find foothold and allow the student union to reach new heights!
MoaGustafsson Department of Political Science
My name is Moa, and I'm a political science student in my first year of the Master's program Welfare Policies and Management. I have a great interest in public policy, sustainability, and foreign affairs. I wish to candidate for the Assembly since I believe it's important to seize the opportunities we have to influence our education, and contribute to creating a student environment that is positive and inclusive. l would love to be a part of that process!
JocelynPembleton Department of Sociology
Hi! My name is Jocelyn Pembleton, and I am a master's student in the sociology program. My motivation to run for a member of the Assembly is to advocate for decisions that best fit students' voices and allow diverse perspectives to be accounted for within the Social Sciences Student Union. I would love the opportunity to become a member, as I highly value the social sciences and the students within this union.
